If you know me, you know how I feel about winter. I often tell people that if my husband were to walk in the door and announce that we were moving to say, Arizona, and I couldn't take anything other than my family, I'd be out the door without a second look back. No lie. When I go home to California, I actually have a physical response to blue sky and especially to the ocean. This photo is from my visit a couple of weeks ago. See, it's written all over my face.
Of course, I've lived outside of Chicago for fourteen years. And the 9-ish months of crap weather usually take a toll on my happy meter. BUT NOT THIS YEAR.
THIS YEAR, I've moved my studio into the sunniest room in the house.
THIS YEAR, I've got a plan for the 9-ish months of crap weather.
THIS YEAR, I've got goals.
THIS YEAR, believe it or not, I'm actually EXCITED to hunker down in my studio and make some art, without the distraction of wanting to go outside (BECAUSE YOU CAN'T).
So yes, winter is coming. But for the first time in forever, I DON'T MIND! I'm getting things done! I have a big year ahead of me and winter will NOT stop me.
